So far, the response to the film has been very positive, but for the most part it’s from people who are already ‘into’ the speed bag. I guess that is still a good thing and I take what I can get! Sales have been as good as expected since it’s release and I hope to see more of them in the New Year. Now it’s time to really push the web promotion. I’m learning a lot and trying everything I can to get my social networks to help push it forward, so if you’re reading this and are a supporter of the film, please post and repost links to the web site and share it with all your friends, family and… well…. anywhere you see fit. EVERY post helps. If you’re a speed bagger, please tag any related videos with “Art of the Bag” as this will help too. Tweet away!
I have also been working on local & national press and have had a few write-ups in the local papers… you know, ‘local filmmaker release a new documentary…’ kind of a thing with a web address listed.
Festivals… yes, I’ve now submitted the film to 3 film festivals that happen in the spring of 2014, so I won’t know if it’s been accepted until April or May. The three are; The Brooklyn Film Festival, The Catskill Mountains Film Festival and the Big Bear International Film Festival. I have my fingers crossed and hope to make it into at least one of them. There will be others as I do my research and aquire the funds to enter (these festivals can get expinsive quickly!).
To those who have purchased the film and have enjoyed it, I thank you for you support….and hope to see some of your baggin’ videos posted very soon. With your help, we can make 2014 the “Year of the Bag”!
Best, -Zaza
